Struggling with Confidence?

Today, I’d like to share how I’ve always struggled with confidence and still do but it’s getting better and better.

I used to perform a lot on stage and almost every time I stepped in front of the audience, I would get really very nervous. I must have been on stage a million times but I still felt pretty anxious and I didn’t quite like it.

I’d also put myself down and start comparing myself to others and got angry with GOD and complained why am I still like this. Look at my friends, family and other people all around me, they are all confident and know what they want in life but ME. WHY ME? HAVE YOU EVER FELT THAT WAY?

You won’t believe it, I would also get nervous filling out a departure form especially in front of others. Afraid, I wouldn’t understand the contents on the form, fill it wrong and people would find out THE TRUTH about ME. How DUMB and STUPID, I am!

There were a lot of things I would feel nervous and not quite confident about. But since 2012, I came across this new understanding and that has made a world of a difference. I’m not saying I always feel confident but now when I don’t, I can see it’s just a thought. It’s not solid, or fixed. It’s temporary. The minute the thought changes, my feelings will change with it. And this has helped me a lot in my coaching business, teaching and the way I approach life.

There are a lot of things that have happened since then, big and small, will share some of them with you:

  • I approached a Caucasian HKU university professor which I wouldn’t in the past thinking they are much better than me because of their English and Education level. (Btw this professor has invited me at HKU for a talk on 12th April. Is that cool? – See what’s possible)

  • Conducted 6 teacher training programs which again in the past I would shy away because I don’t have a university degree.

  • And I’m more and more comfortable in my skin and don’t compare as much as I used to and if I do, I get over it faster.

  • I’ve made close to 40 video blogs and written less than 10 articles and Btw I HATED WRITING AND I ALWAYS THOUGHT AND STILL THINK, I’M CRAP! But still went ahead anyways.

  • Learning new things which I thought I’m not able to because I’M NOT SO SMART. Have learnt how to build a website, grammar, new English words, write better etc etc.

I’m sure there are lots of things I could come up with but don’t want to bore you with details.

Btw, I am no special. This can happen with anybody. We all have confidence within ourselves but it gets blocked thanks to our insecure thinking. Once we can see what’s really happening. We will be amazed by what each one of us can do in life.

Now what if you knew you were born confident and you didn’t have to do anything to be confident, what would be possible in your life?

Write to me, I’d love to hear from you. Btw if you want to connect and have a conversation via skype, zoom/phone/whatsapp regarding this topic or anything else that would make a difference, please feel free to email me at It’s all FREE. No CHARGES and NO STRINGS ATTACHED.
