Yesterday, in lesson 1, I shared about worry which is nothing more than a thought. Today, I will be talking about second chance and failure.
Even if I fail to get through the current level in Candy Crush, I have nothing to lose because I know I will get another chance. In fact, I will get an infinite number of chances until I pass the level. Recently, one of my friends was telling me, who loves Candy Crush and by the way, she’s on level 500 something, and how sometimes, it takes her 3 days to pass a certain level. Similarly, in life and business, we always get a second chance if not more. But very often, we think if we can’t make it on the first go, we’ve failed. Come to a dead end. Game over. But that’s not true. We always get second chances in life. This reminds me of Thomas Edison’s famous quote:
"I haven't failed -- I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." “Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” “Genius is 1 percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration.”
It’s so beautiful, even after 10,000 times, things didn’t quite work out for Thomas Edison but he still didn’t feel like a failure. Why? Because failure like worry is also a thought manufactured inside our heads and has no relation whatsoever with what happens on the outside. But we think if our business didn’t work out or a girl rejected us, we feel like a failure. If that was true, then Thomas Edison would have felt like that. But that’s never true. Our experience of failure only comes from inside. Don’t believe me. Look at your life. Did you always feel like a failure in every situation that didn’t go your way or sometimes you did and sometimes you didn’t. Why do you think?
I’d love to hear your thoughts and if you feel like a failure and can’t seem to move forward in life, you’re most welcome to get in touch with me and I’d love to support you in any way possible.
Take care and have a lovely day!
